yes that will work because the x3 and x30 have the same connectors.

Before you get that, you might consider getting the Boxwave Versacharger and mini-sync. A much more compact travel kit:

Do you have to buy the miniSync or DirectSync too to work it? It looks like it doesn't include a line.

It doesn't include a cable. It's definitely more expensive than having a separate AC and car adaptor. I happen to have two less expensive USB car adaptors and an AC USB adaptor that I previously bought. I use the AC adaptor for charging on a daily basis since I hate the one that came with the Axim.

But the Boxwave is more efficient to carry around, especially when travelling. I got my mini-sync from eBay, and I have a couple of other Axim cables I keep in the cars, also bought from eBay. I just keep them in the center console armrest compartment for when I need them, along with a spare cable for my GPS and phone.

If I knew when I bought the cheaper adaptors what I know now, I probably would have bought the Boxwave first. But in the end, I wound up with multiple USB car adaptors that I just keep in the car, and have collected a suite of USB charging cables for phones, my GPS and my pocket WiFi access point, as well as the Axim, and one adaptor does it all. I've even got a couple of USB hubs so I can charge multiple devices at the same time.

I've got more ways to power my X30 than you can shake a stick at (what does that mean, anyway?).

I've also got one of these:
http://store.yahoo.com/semsons-inc/pocpowban.html, which I used to charge my Axim the other day when I didn't have access to a car or AC power supply. If you can't tell, it has the USB power jack to plug into also.

I noticed that a couple of the chargers are expensive and then there are a bunch of generic cheapo ones out there. Besides the convenience of the features on the expensive ones, is there any reason not to use a cheapo car charger?

I've got cheapo charges, and they've worked fine for months. My Axim charges daily on a cheapo AC USB type charger, and I use the cheapo car USB type charger not only for the Axim but the phone and GPS as well (with a USB 1.1 hub that cost under $10) at the same time. You can use those combo chargers for anything you can get a USB charging cable for.

I think I paid $8 plus $7 for shipping for the AC adaptor with car charger and cable on eBay.

I have something like that except the car and wall adaptors are seperate units. They really come in handy. Unfortunately, I recently misplaced the wall adaptor one. I still have a USB cable that hooks into my X30. I originally used it with a Toshiba e740.

As far as I know, there's only two combination car and AC adaptors (that is, both in one unit). The Versacharger is the only one that is compact and elegant (and I could only find it at Boxwave). The other one is more boxy and inelegant, but available from different sources.

Otherwise, separate adaptors is the only other way to go, and they're dirt cheap.
