New Owner questions: cases, ex-batteries, etc
Hello all!
My Axim was shipped today (woohoo!), should have it very soon!

I've been shopping for batteries, cases, etc, and was wondering if the Mugen Power Enhanced Capacity Battery (Hi-Battery) 2000mAh is the way to go. ($39 at aximcases) They also have an Extended Power Battery (Hi-Battery) 1800mAh that's actually in stock, but it's not branded. What do you guys think?

I'm trying to decide whether or not I need a rhinoskin aluminum case, because I love the look of the red leather Sena case, but can it accomodate the extended battery? Also, what is it's closure? The Piel Frama case can hold the extended battery, but is the fit as close as the Sena case? What is you all's experience with these cases?

I generally will be tossing the Axim into a tote bag, purse, or book pack. Any females around here with an opinion on leather vs. aluminum in similar situations?

Enough for now... Thanks for your feedback!

Sravana

1) yes do go for 2000 mAH, most of us have it.

2) IMHO, the aluminum is way too geeky, a nice leather case

for case, it all depends on the situation

a leather case provides a more professional case for when you're in the office

an aluminum case provides protection for everyday life

and i've got the mugen 2000mah battery and it works great

Sravana!

to Aximsite

I wouldn't suggest tossing your new baby anywhere even in a case!

I've owned both the Sena and Piel Frama. Not with the extended battery but I would go with the Piel Frama because of the way it closes and will not snag open if placed in a bag or backpack.

See you around!

Re: aluminum = geeky: agreed!
That Piel frama case is what I was looking at... I love the look of the sena - too bad it doesn't accomodate the ext. battery...

Thanks for the reply. Given the geekitude of the aluminum, I'd choose leather. But given my student lifestyle... hmmm.

Looks like I'll go with the Mugen 2000. /me needs the power!

NiwRoc!

Well, perhaps I need to re-think this Axim-tossing, huh?

Now that I've decided that the Piel Frama is for me... the question is whether or not my backpack-Axim-tossing requires the aluminum.

I don't think aluminum looks geeky
only if you wear it on yur belt

but i keep my axim in the inside chest pocket or in my back pocket of my jeans

just there for protection
