Battery extender question
I'm thinking about getting a battery extender for my X30H.I believe I have the new type socket and wondering if it's backward compatable with the older plugs which I would probably get if I ordered the extender off Ebay.Any experience with this?Any recomindations?

I have an extender off Ebay. It worked great for the X5, but doesn't work for the X30 for some reason. Bummer.

Older plugs on X30s? Did they change them?

I have 3 different types of extenders:

1. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...sPageName=WDVW

Has worked fine for me for 7 months. It's not regulated, so you should unplug it when it finishes charging, let your Axim drain down some, recharge it, etc. I get about 2-3 full charges from AA alkalines.

2. http://store.yahoo.com/semsons-inc/batexwitusb.html

I have multiple rechargeable devices with USB cables, and that is really handy. It's slightly larger than the eBay one, and it has a pocket clip. I believe this one is regulated. I'm not sure how long it lasts with just the Axim alone since I frequently use a USB hub with it to top off the charge on multiple devices (phone, GPS, Axim, BT headset).

3. http://store.yahoo.com/semsons-inc/pocpowban.html

This is the one I carry around the most when size isn't completely important. I can use it as an AC adaptor, it recharges the batteries, and it's just really convenient.

Of course, with the last two you need to get a sync/charge cable, but those are also cheap on eBay, and you can also get the mini-sync retractable kind.

The way I use this one, is charge up the Axim with it, stick it in a nearby wall socket (and make a mental note to retrieve it) so the batteries charge up, recharge Axim/phone/etc, rinse and repeat as necessary. AC sockets are frequently available, but not conveniently located.

Thanks for the info frankenbike. The X30 had a bent pin problem and Dell modified the plug or socket at some point to correct the problem. Not sure what they did and thats why I was asking if older plugs would work on the updated sockets.Anyone else rum into this?

I attached the dongle that came with my old X3 to my X5 battery extender and it works perfect. I never even used the dongle until I tried it this way.
