Corsair 1GB 40x Secure Digital Memory
Corsair 1GB 40x Secure Digital Memory £53.98 inc VAT

Has anyone used this in their X30? Does it work..

It seams to be quite cheap for a x40 card....

What about Kingston 1GB Secure Digital Card?

Thanks

The speed of SD cards isnt going to make a difference in your Axim....it only applies when using a card reader. My suggestion is to not make a decision to buy a SD card based on the speed of the card unless you plan on transferring a lot of material using a card reader.

Corsair is a less known brand. You probably wont see too many reviews of it since not too many people use it. Kingston though is a more popular one. I've used little known brands of SD cards before with no problems. I figure, if its that cheap and it breaks, no big loss (financially speaking).

Not so true. Speed will have a huge impact on acces time. Most slow card (ie: regular Sandisk & clones) will take much more time to acces files.

I had a regular Sandisk. Opening the "Game folder" with 9 icon there took near 10 seconds to show them all. With a Lexar 32x, it take less than 2 seconds. Speed does matter.

But I agree, between 24x and 80x, you won't see much difference.

Thanks for the replies

I already have a kingston 512MB card which works well. Being about the same price I am tempted the corsair as its faster and I guess corsair is not really an unknown company. I am just scared that it will not work in my x30?

Corsair make good PC RAM so I guess the SD cards are probably good aswell.

As someone already said, my sandisk takes like 10 sec to load a few game icons but I have a Danelec card which is much faster, does it instantly.

Kingston SD Cards
I just purchased and began using a Kingston 1 GB SD card for my X3. I've had it for a day. So far, so good. I prev had a Viking 128mb card which didn't give me a day's trouble. The only reason I didn't go back with the Viking is I could get the Kingston sooner. The cost seems to be comparable. Good Luck!
