Modifying MDR-EX51LP's

I would like now if anyone has ever shortened the neck cord on their sony MDR-EX51LP's, if so could i get some instruction.

why would you need to shorten it? in case you didn't know you are supposed to pull the right earbud behind your neck so there is only one wire hanging down on the left.

Why would you want to shorten headphones, I like them long, so you can have your ppc in your cargo pocket or somthing...

i would want to shorten it because it is stripped because of pinching in an altoids case.

I wouldn't recommend messing with the Sony earphone cable. We have those phones, and my wife left them where the ferrets could get to them... they chewed up the cable so I got a good look at the inside. The signal wires are VERY FINE, which would make it really tough to shorten the cable. Caveat hacker.
