Name that keyboard...
Okies, i am looking for a keyboard for my x30Mid.

So here i am, i want to know the make of the keyboard attached. Its avaliable from addonsworld.co.uk and shirtpocket.co.uk and as its a bank holiday weekend i rather doubt anyone who runs these sites will be around to answer my question!

So, do u know the make, any horror stories / is it good for frequent use!

Regards,

- Martyn

Speaking of keyboards... a couple of months ago Belkin announced a snap-on keyboard for the X30 series, but I can't find it on their site. I can't find a listing on the Dell site either. Did this ever appear, or is it vaporware?

Dell's site lists a snap-on keyboard for the X5 (Manufacturer Part# D2543, Dell Part #: 310-4219). Are the connector and X5 body dimensions the same? Will this keyboard work with the X30? Has anyone used this keyboard -- how good/bad is it?

Thanks!

It's still on the Dell site. The connectors on the X5 are totally different from the X3/X30 series so the keyboards are not interchangeable.

BTW, it would be better to have started a new thread on this.

Are you looking for an IR or BT keyboard, I am in the UK and got a good deal on an IR keyboard from Expansys - it was a rebadged Think Outside that was labelled up as a Palm Universal keyboard. I found it to work well and be very reliable once I'd worked out who made it and loaded the right drivers If you decide on BT I would recommend the Think Outside with the Mouse, I got mine from a local firm in Birmingham www.fonejunkie.com - Iwas in a hurry and they let me collect.

Ok that's my $0.02

this IR one?

http://www.expansys.com/product.asp?code=106815

I would prefer IR as uni has a wifi network and so having wifi / bluetooth on will really force me to find more money for a bigger battery.

Yes that's the one. It is a Think Outside and the latest drivers are available from their website, I started with the Palm drivers and got a very confused X50v :-) It worked fine for me - my girlfriend now uses it with her PPC.

I'm looking for a Bluetooth keyboard that actually shines a keyboard in from of the PDA and knows where you are typing. Like a vitual keyboard, does anyone know where to find that?
