Can I use this on my axim?
I bought a new battery on ebay for a Jornada 540 series and it came with two chargers, one an ordinary AC adaptor and the other for a car. They both provide power through a usb sync cable. There's nowhere on either that says it's only for the jornada, so if I plug in my axim's sync cable will I be able to use it? As I understand it, usb power is pretty standard (5V) so it should be no different than charging my axim through the sync cable connected to a computer, right?

The wall AC adaptor has a label that says this:
MODEL: TR163
INPUT: 100-240VAC
200mA, 50-60Hz
OUTPUT: 5~10W(MAX)

The car adaptor doesn't have any such label on it.

That's pretty much the only way I charge my Axim. In the last 10 months, I haven't had a problem yet, but others claim they have.

I leave mine plugged in through the ac adaptor and sync cable almost full time, and use WiFi to sync when I feel like it.

YMMV.

If it's a 5V charger and it has neither an IC chip or a diode, throw it away (that means don't use it on your Axim) IC will stop the flow of current into a device if the device is charged, and a diode stops the charge from reversing direction (out of PDA). Keep in mind that electronics (especially fine electronics) are not toys and improper charging can and will damage them. Axim X30s charge at 5.7V DC, anything more and you risk damage to the unit... anything less and you risk ineffectiveness as well as damage to the battery.

But USB ports run at 5V, not 5.7V. Does that mean it's not a good idea to charge my axim through my sync cable at all? I've charged it from my computer several times. Actually, my AC adaptor says 5.4V, not 5.7V, but that still isn't the 5.0V that USB uses.
