Looking for x30 extended battery in standard form factor
I'm going to California in a few weeks - non-stop plane ride from Pittsburgh to LA. I'd like to get an extended battery for my x30H but one that does not require purchasing a new case (I have a Rhino Skin). Do all extended batteries bubble out of the back of the PDA or are there some that fit into the standard form factor?

A company called Mugen Power makes batteries for the X3/X30 that are slightly higher capacity than the Dell ones. They make a "standard" size and an "extended" size, but I think the Mugen standard has about 200 mA more than the stock Dell battery.

If you don't want to change cases, you're going to need to swap batteries mid-flight. Find the best deal you can on a standard-size battery, charge both, and away you go.

Thanks. In your opinion, is true extended (bubble) battery worth the extra size and weight?

In my opinion, I would say that it is. The 1100mAh battery by Mugen Power is great if you are using a metal case where size is important. If you need capacity, then either the 1800mAh from Dell or the 2000mAh from Mugen Power would be the way to go. Both batteries are about the same size and weight (Dell and Mugen Power, not 1100mAh and 2000mAh).

Mike, do you mean the "extended battery" from my link lasts as long as the original battery that came with the Ax?!? Or are you saying the atermarket battery of comporable strength lasts as long as the Dell brand name of the same size?

Thanks!

Cool, thanks. I am looking for an extended battery (I dont mind a little extra size for the extra hour+ of wifi use it will give me), but the Mugen one is like $60 everywhere! On Amazon(my link) you can get the same mAh for $15.....but I didnt know if this is a case of "you get what you pay for." If your extra battery works the same as the OEM battery, it stands to reason that the extended battery from Amazon will give me more usage time for 1/4 the cost of an OEM or Mugen. Yay!

Since most of this topic is about non Mugen Power (Lion Battery)products, we'll move this to the "X30 Accessories" forum.
