Broken keyboard or software?
Just got a x3/30 dell keyboard off ebay and installed the software and plugged it up, but no keyboard action....
It knows that its connected, it shows connected when i go to the folding keyboard program... So I uninstalled the driver and reinstalled and the same....Then I uninstalled and downloaded the driver from the dell web and the same.... Now sometime it works, vary rarely... and when it does its like the keys get stuck some time, it just runs away typing one letter.... I tried soft reboot and a hard reboot, heck I even started all over and only loaded the keyboard and the same.....
Anybody else have this problem, or do I have a dud?

Make sure you have the newest Dell driver installed. Check their website.

However, I have had problems with mine twice, due to adding new software. Resets fixed them.

Oy!
OK, so of course I would have trouble with my keyboard again, RIGHT AFTER that post. Well, the problem probably started yesterday when I was trying out SPB, Pocket Breeze, Wisbar Advance 2, MemMaid, RegKing and all sorts of software. [Maybe I screwed up the registry?]

What worked to get the keyboard up again:

1. Hard Reset
2. Install the newest driver from the setup file I downloaded from Dell.
3. Follow its directions to perform a soft reset.

For some reason, I couldn't just use the add/remove feature in ActiveSync. It just didn't work for this.

So, now in about a year I have had keyboard failure three times. Otherwise, I love that keyboard and use it a lot.

Good luck with your replacement Axim. Hope that solves your problem.

Well I found out its a software issue.. But I cant figure it out. I tried again with a hard reset, erasing all data and installing only the keboard and same, so I ordered a new keyboard and got it in today and the same. Even went and got the drivers right off dell's website and same. It must be something I need to edit in the registry...
Any ideas anyone??
