question about converting music and video files onto storage card
Hi, i just bought a 1 gb sd card (scan disk regular one) for my x30, and am looking forward to uploading some videos and mp3. I keep hearing about these different converters? cause right now, it takes like forever to copy/paste 1 music file, 5 mb or so, onto my pda. Imagine putting on like 50?

Is there a special converter program that should speed up the process or even condense the file size?

thanks

a USB device that has a slot for your cards...plug them in, they become a drive on your pc, and start copying...takes 400mb about 5 minutes!

And if you have USB2 ports on your PC, get a USB2 speed card reader and watch those files fly!

errr... it take me 10 to 15 sec for a song, i just use the cradle that came with my x30h... and i am using usb 1 too, lol!

since u are interested in a music and video converter, so i recommand Power MP3 WMA Converter for converting musics. I have use it for a while, it was pretty easy to use and works very nicely. The only down side which I was dispointed by was that you can't drag and drop files to be convert. Yea, you gotta open then convert, kind of annoying.

for movie, i only used Pocket DVD Wizard. It take several tries to get use to it, but i coverts very well. It convert a whole movie to exactly fit a 128mb card or 256mb card so you don have to worry about few mb over the max capacity of ur card. The quality is pretty good since our axim screen is so small. FYI: I convert a music video and it over take up 5 mb, and the quality is pretty decent. Hope it helps, laterz!

PS: I have a regular Lexar 512mb SD card, think lexar cards are generally faster, dono!

I use card export to transfer those large files. I don't like having to carry around a card reader all the time. When I switch the card export over to take over instead of active sync, it opens up a prompt as a mass storage device and I will copy over my movies and music. I have usb 1 on my computer and I compressed the whole band of brothers series down to 200 meg files and it took 5-7 minutes per file to copy over. USB 2.0 is nice but if you don't have it, card export is a life saver. The program is in many threads on this site. Just do a search for it. It was cheaper than getting a card reader and a usb 2 card.
