Foldable Dell Keyboard Problem
I got a Dell foldable Keyboard off Ebay (I know, first mistake). Everything works fine except the space bar, which has to be hit quite hard to work. Any solutions/suggestions? It seems to be a mechanical problem. Looking under the space bar, I can see a very thin piece of metal bowed upward that looks like it might be interferring with the downward action of the key. Can this be repaired? Can the keys be taken off like a regular keyboard? Anyone taken a foldable keyboard apart?

Thanks!
Doug

I had this problem too - and I had to send the unit back to Dell for a replacement.

I don't know if it can be repaired.

Franken-keyboard lives!
It turns out that the buttons on these keyboards DO come off pretty easily. And by using double-sided tape with a small piece of plastic as a spacer under the space bar, I was able to fix the space bar. It seems to be simply a matter of how much "travel" the bar needs, that is, somehow the space bar was sitting too high and that meant that it had to be pressed very hard. I don't know if it will work in the long-term (maybe the key action is itself wearing out?), but it seems to be ok for now.

Thanks for posting that. I was wanting to take mine off and work on it but didn't know if it would go back on. I've got mine working well now.
