The SD card association seems to suggest that it's possible, but I dont think there are any.

I think that an SD tuner would look ungainly, as it would need to stick a large way out of the slot to accommadate an aerial and batteries.

I'm surprised.Such an invention could become the biggest Pocket PC accessory since Wi-fi,or maybe Bluetooth.

you think??
only reason I ask is that there are CF card tuners available for the x50v and there doesn't seem to be a huge market for it.
now if you could get sattelite reception ...... then we would have something.

I think the CF Tv tuner is bigger It's HUGE... so a small SD one would be amazing

Hmmm...Nice,but a satellite tuner would cost about $1750!
I wish there was some adapter you could use to plug a CF card into a SD slot.

Seriously?? Do you have a link? I'd LOVE one of these! And depending on the specs, very well may be worth it. (I'm a shortwave/ham radio (KF4YOR), 'monitoring' junkie!!)

One of my pasttimes is decyphering radio signals from the back yard.

A lot of German based satellites with maps. Maps, maps, pictures, NASA images, NASA satellite telemetry, things like that is what I mostly see.

If it is just for DSS/DirecTV, or something like that -- then that price is simply absurd.

So what about a "HDTV enabled" wireless router that allows HDTV over WiFi?
I've always wanted something like that. In fact, I'll be interested in a wired only HDTV gateway as I already have some wireless routers.
Indeed, after seeing how my Dell HDTV adapter is small enough to fit into a typical Linksys router along with the existing hardware, it's quite possible to build a HDTV gateway. Something like a Jessica ALBA (Advanced Linux Based Application) SoC could be used to simplify the PCI interfacing. Or a Jessica Simpson CPU with a PCI controller.

sure, i do all the time. i have a usb2 tv tuner for my desktop. i usually capture the tv shows using the schedule program that came with my tuner (compro videomate action) to high bitrate mpegs then run them through windows media encoder to take them down to a good pocket pc size and bitrate. you could always capture the video in a pocketpc format but then you dont have a dvd quality version and it would make too much sense . once you get it encoded all you have to do is copy the wmvs to your sd card and off you go. i would reccomend a card reader for this last step. if you are in the market for a desktop tuner i would reccomend newegg. they are the only company i have found with the compro tuners and they also have a good selection of other tuners.
