Battery terminals

Does anybody know what all the terminals on the battery are for? Of course 2 of them are for power, but are the other three for more power or for information? I guess the real question is would it be possible to map some controls for a vibrating motor through there?

Go to www.batteryuniversity.com you will find a lot of information there. Hopefully what you are looking for. :approve:

They connect to the chip built into the battery and let the Axim know the battery temperature, battery capacity etc. for charging and for estimating battery life.

That battery universe helped me out. From what I've read there... I'm thinkin its not possible to put a vibrating motor in there without adding another contact.

heres an idea.. open your axim and cut the leads that go to the power button light. then connect the two leads to a vibrator.. to make the vibrater vibrat just go start>setttings>alarms (time)>and set the reminder to make the light flash...

She doesn't have enough power captain....

Good thinking chris, but I don't think that'd work.

Nah, wiring it to the light would work, but you would need to need circuitry that I just dont understand. I think a transistor or something to do the switch when you get the light signal.
I would understand a relay.. but not a chunk of silicon.. Depending on how much you want it, there are lots of resources... post in general and see if a smart person would answer. I know at a minimum you could go to hardforums electronics section to get a really smart answer that would exceed the scope of my knowlege

Interesting. Then the vibrator would have to be in the ax. To tell you the truth, I'd rather go frankensteining a battery than my ax. but that's just me. I'm glad the ideas actually getting out though, cause i don't know jack about things like that for the most part. Maybe the idea will get to dell and they'll put them in the new ones.

You misunderstand me...of course it'd WORK but it wouldn't turn quickly if it had enough power to turn at all.

Not to mention the lack of room in the ax. Unless you run the leads out and tape the motor to the back of it :).

to wmcjhi and chris,
what you could do is ducttape a 9v battery to theback of the axim to help power the vibrater and then do what chris said about the alarm thing
