Window Media not working
Need help with Window Media on my Axim X30.
All of a sudden it will not start or run I can’t watch any videos at all. It tries to open put the colored icon just keep spinning. It says looking for skins and just hangs there and I have to do a soft reset. I have loaded Window Media skins into the directory with no luck.
Also, tried to find where I could download Windows Media for Pocket PC and reinstall with no luck. Searched everywhere put could not find Pocket PC Windows Media. I did find version 7.1 put when trying to install would not allow installation.
Anyone know where I can get the latest version to download and reinstall?
Any other tips on getting it to run?

RogerC-
I've had the exact same problem. It just happened over the holidays, as I was trying to show my brother-in-law just how cool my PPC was (doh!).
I don't know how to fix it. I have an X30 624MHz, ROM A06.
If you find any fix, I'd like to know.
Thanks.
Danny

This has happened to me before. Make sure the files on your SD/CF card are not corrupted, you might want to backup then reformat the card. After the reformat throw a track on there and see if the Windows Media search can find it. In my personal experience none of this worked (but it has for others) and I upgraded my rom to fix it.

I've had this before, think it's cured by deleteing the WMDRM folder on your SD/CF card.

oooooh yeah that's the one. Try that. I didn't know about that when I had the problem. But I had read about it and kicked myself. That should be the fix.

I had tried that previously, and it didn't seem to work. However, I found a separate post that works: http://www.aximsite.com/boards/showthread.php?t=54775
The website for the TascalRegEdit is old, but you can google it and find a new version.
That solved the "Searching for Skins" problem for me, but now all my files are considered "corrupt". I looked for the WMDRM folder, and deleted it, but my files are still considered "corrput" and won't play.
Any additional thoughts?
Danny

I just fixed the "corrupt" file problem. I had to do a soft reset after doing the registry edit and deleting the WMDRM folder. After the soft reset, it now works fine.
