Bought my Axim on a private message board and did not receive a receipt. Need to show "general value" of this item to add to renters policy.

I purchased my x51v from ebay so I did not have either of those. But I did have the Id and the name of the person I bought it from. I then went on Dell support and with that information transferred the warranty. I then called Dell for support and have since checked warranty time and all is well.

even though it is out of warranty would they still be able to provide this info? I of course have the serial number and the name of the person I bought it from.

I tried to press this issue as far as I could with the Dell Phone service guy. Their story was. If you stole your PDA we (Dell) would not want to give you a new one for waranty replacement. What? Geee Thanks how about getting it back. No help there of coarse.
