Utility to prevent power on

Hello everybody,

recently I had the problem more than once that my Axim X30 powered on in my trouser pocket and when I saw it hours later there was the message that the battery is low and therefore a hardware-reset was perfomered. Great.
I got it in the original leather case and don't want to change that.

Does anybody have/know a utility that assigns the power button to another or even two buttons (like calendar + home- button)?

Thank you.

bye

I don't know of a utility per se, but you can go into the Settings to make sure none of the buttons except for the power button itself can turn on the device (your device may have turned on because another button was pressed):

Start - Settings - System tab - Power - Power On tab - uncheck boxes

You can also set/shorten the time it takes for the device to automatically power off of not used:

Start - Settings - System tab - Power - Advanced tab

Hello Gigi,

Thanks for your reply.

The automatic power off was already set but I think it doesn't work if the PDA is waiting for the password.

Nevertheless I will try your other suggestion and see i it will happen again.
