There seems to be some buzz about this origami thing:

(Man, I hope copy and paste works with thread titles...)
Thing is, none of us lowly user types really knows what is going to be released.
It sounds to me like we have room for 2 or 3 more categories of devices. I don't think ANY of them could achieve the run-away sales success of the ipod, since so many people already have those, and people who want an ipod are going to buy an ipod, not one of these things. Plus, there are too many different competing devices coming out at once for any one of them to get enough sales to be the next ipod.
But, it's intriguing anyway. I think the more "mashup" devices get built, the better, so people can try out stuff and contribute to the evolution of the technology.
I just wish more normal user type people like us, who don't work in the industry, and don't live near the product development or marketing offices of one of these companies, could be involved in the product testing.
Anyway, the initial post in this thread mentioned a big hard drive and it sounds like the DualCor device would have that, but it looks bigger than an Axim or ipod.
So we are living in pretty exciting times!
I predict the next big thing will be having voice interface throughout your house and maybe anywhere you have wifi, cellular, or other radio signal, so you can pretend you are on the U.S.S. Enterprise.
Maybe you will even be able to pick up a "fully functional" Data at Best Buy. I could really use that, especially if he is proficient at vacuuming the house.
