Hello all,
Problem I have had on 3 different X3's, and now on my X30 as well, If I read a book which is located on the storage card, I get routine messages telling me "MSREADER is no longer able to access the file", and the solution is to shut down & re-start reader. This is very annoying!! I have found that if I copy the book to main memory, I no longer get the "Unable to access file" message anymore. Any ideas?? I have researched this at microsoft.com, & there was a procedure where you deleted a file that would get corupted, but this did not seem to help at all.

I have the same problem. I also have problems with the MSReader locking up when it's in the background on my X51V. The fix for that is Soft Reset. MSReader is also iinstalled on the CF card. I think it's a MSReader feature.
I don't know of a fix , other than installing program and book to device memory. It's not just you.
Try putting both the .lit (book) file and Reader in internal memory -- not a memory card. I used to have a problem similar to yours -- and it turns out that it was a memory card that didn't work with the Axim x30.

I currently copy my book I wish to read to main memory, read it, delete it, copy the next, etc. However, sometimes I forget to copy it, or want to read a different book at the same time, etc. When I do forget to copy to main memory, I start to get the MSreader unable to access the file messages. It is not a problem with a certain card, nor is it a problem with a certain model of axim. I have tried it with 3 different X3's, an X5, an X30, and all of them with 3 different brands & sizes of SD cards. It appears that the OS just "forgets" where the SD card is for a few seconds. (Sometimes it is much worse, it forgets where the SD card is until you do a soft reset)
Anyway, if there is something to be done to fix this problem, I would appreciate knowing.
Thanks
Dave
