Question Odyssey and 802.1 authentication

I get a great connection using Odyssey Client but when I try to use the 802.1 authentication, my x30 reports back as a failure to authenticate and no reason for the failure. I also cannot connect using WPA. l'm using a versalink 327W. I've tried different setups; all to no avail. The documentation with Odessey client is sparse to the least. I prefer not to use the WLAN Utility since I cannot connect at all using that with WEP. I'm trying to put the best security I can into this setup and I'm having a hard time doing it. Right now I'm stuck with 64 Bit Wep. Anybody have any answers for this perplexing problem.

Wifi.aximsite.com has a pretty good walk through and such.
See if that helps answer your questions.

Cool

Thanks for the help. However, I'm still having problems. But the info you directed me to hapled me understand the process better. At least now, I've got wep with mac address filtering. It's not wpa or 802.1 authentication but it'll do.

Sorry I don't have anything in the Guide on WPA or 802.1. My home system is kind of ancient and I see no need to upgrade since 95% of it's use is with the PPC and just has 802.11b.

I use wpa here (using it now) and I had a few problems at first but now it connects first time every time. I'm sure you're all capable of putting your passwords etc. in correctly, the main thing I do differently (compared to when I 1st started) is start odyssey prior to starting the wireless on my axim. I had a problem with the password at one stage, each time I checked it in odyssey it had changed, there was no way of reading it of course, but it had an extra character.

I hope this helps - start odyssey before starting wireless :)
