How long can the backup battery hold data after the main battery gets discharged?

I will be out of town for long period of time and will have to leave the X3 at home without being charged. I was just wondering how long the backup battery can hold data (such as software installed on the machine, contact information, etc) after the in the main battery eventally gets totally discharged. A few days? Weeks? or Months? Many thanks.

It's a least 2 days. This happened to me this past weekend. I had a reminder set by mistake and my X30 turned on. The battery was completely drained Sunday night. Based on my experience with battery life I think it was off for about 2 days. Nothing else was running in the background. Everything was back to normal when I plugged it in the cradle, though.

The backup battery is only designed to hold the info for about 30 minutes (while you swap main batteries)..any longer than that and you are tempting fate...

If you know you will be away and need to leave your device uncharged, do a complete backup so that it won't be much of a hassle to restore everything back when you return. You could also just leave your device on the charger the whole time. :)

If you pull out the main battery, you have about 30 minutes, maybe give or take 15 minutes. If you leave the main battery in, you should be able to go months without worrying. Even if you have 1% main battery left, there is still a lot of energy to keep the charge flowing, but not enough to handle processing and display and sound.
