text programs crashing

Ive had a wierd problem that is off- and on for awhile now and am wondering if this is happening to anyone else.

it seems like anything that uses a text editor- pocket word, notes, excel and even while adding notes to appointments, the program will just close without warning and losing everything i just typed. this does not always happen, but when it does, the only way to get it to stop is to soft reset. i dont know what triggeres it and it really stinks because i never know when i am going to lose my work.
it doesnt matter how i open the programs, start menu/new button etc. it just does it sporatically for no real reason.
sometimes, not always, when this happens after the first time it crashes, i cant even get any text type programs to open up at all... until i do a soft reset. other times, i am able to open and create new docs but it crashes.

does any of this sound familliar to anyone?

I have only had problems with pocket word (but then, I've only used excel about 2 or 3 times). Depending on how the file was saved before transferring to the axim (I'm a Linux user, so I just save to rtf or doc and email), it sometimes crashes. Pocket word also doesn't like really big files. This doesn't seem to be your problem, but figured I might as well mention it.
