Cruise ship wi-fi problem

I just got back from a great 14 day cruise on the Sea Princess. My problem is that I could not get on the internet using the ship's wi-fi connection (and paying for it ahead of time). I asked the computer instructer, but she couldn't help me...... In order to connect and sign in, you are already on Internet Explorer. After signing in, you a re told that you must now open another browser to begin surfing the internet. "Use the internet explorer icon on your desktop or taskbar or click Start-Programs-Internet Explorer." I'm already on internet explorer. Like on other cruise lines (which works) I click on MSN Mobile and.....nothing happens. Obviously I'm doing something wrong or because of the way they have set the wi-fi, my Axim 30 has built in limitations (and I shouldn't try this again). Can you help?

My guess is you need that first window to remain connected to their log in site.

So you would have to use a multi window browser, to keep one window w/ the login page and the other window for surfing.

There is a free vers. called ftxpBrowser.

But im just guessing.

I hope you are right. It makes sense. I've downloaded it, but I'll need to take another Princess cruise to test it out. Thank you.....

Yes, that is exactly correct. :approve: We were on the Island Princess back in September and ran into this.

We were, however able to send and receive email through our Comcast account without any problems. In fact, the WIFI connection was available even when the computers in the Atrium were down and unable to connect.

cheers
paul
