How do i enter a WEP code,where is the

Yesterday in a cafe the "open" connection was to weak to connect.The cafe owner gave me his WEP code to use his connection.

I almost always use the open connections but when theres only been a WEP connection a window poped up and the code was entered? Yessterday i went to odyssey then scan then entered the WEP key when i reconected it asked for the key??

How should i find choose and use a WEP connection when there are several available, but i only have the key for one of them???

Every wep network will display a box like this:

Youll just have to try your wep in all the wep networks avaliable at the cafe.

Since you have permission to use the network, just ask the owner for the network name so you don't have to guess.

The correct name is there on odyssey the The name and key would take longer than i have battery power. The name is about 30 letters and 2 numbers, the WEP code From the telecom is over 40 letters large and small plus numbers!

Its so long since i used it with a WEP as the cafes libraries and some town offices that have an open wi-fi, the cafes say its easier and the users come in to buy their drinks and food or lunch anyway!

Ive remembered what i did befor. I went to connections then dell wireless lan utility then edit wireless then chose the connection but where do i enter the WEP key?

If i was to be useing macdonnalds as i travelled and chose 10 different centers each with its own WEP would i have to re enter it everytime i used that connection?

When they had WEP they had to spend to much time helping people to use it!!And it was free anyway,the town offices have for anyone that might need it.

This Cafe has a contract but when thats over that two will go open,Even the owner had trouble with the WEP key!

Where do i tap to bring down this box? I know the name of the one for the WEP key we just couldent enter the key and when we did it must have been in the wrong box!!

You only get that box the first time your PPC 'sees' the network. To change a key once you've attempted to connect (with WiFi on) go to Start, Settings, Connections (tab), Network Card, tap the name of the network, Network Key (tab) and enter it in the Network key: field.
