I am trying to pick between the X30 and the X50 on eBay.
Big question: Does anyone know how much difference there is between the screen size and image quality between these two models? I mean specifically just the "normal" non VGA version of the X50 vs the X30? Or is there little perceived difference between the size of the screens, brightness, and overall image quality?
I could use some good advice as soon as possible please.
Thanks much.
The screen is bigger -- not sure of the specs of both units -- but you will notice the difference in real estate. As for the quality diffenrce of the screens, I owned the X30H before purchasing the X50V and the quailty of the screen was one of the main reasons I made the upgrade. I think any former X30 user who now has a X50V would say the difference is incredible. I know I'd enver go back to a lesser quailty screen. Go for the X50V -- it's more than just the screen size and quality. It's a quailty PPC!
Having been an x30H owner myself, I coul lint agree about the x50v more. They are available on ebay for about the same price. It is money you will never regret spending. A VGA screen really is all that and a bag of doritos.

I've only poked at a non-VGA x50 in the school bookstore, but as far as I can tell the screen is not bigger. The only advantage I think it would have is that it might have a brighter screen.

This has helped me decide. IF I just can't afford the 50v I will still try to get the 50 over the 30.
with a little palience, you should be able to get a really good deal on an x50v. It. really is worth the $10 to $20 extra. Because I bought mine new from Dell, I did have to come up with almost $100. It's depressing to see how much they sell for on ebay now. My mother-in-law just got a complete package with Rhino and extra battery and charger for under $300.

Make sure you consider things other than the screen... e.g. the X30 has a jog wheel, the X50 does not. The X30 has better WiFi range. The X50 is more comfortable to hold (X30 is very angular, the X50 is contured). The X50 has a CF slot, the X30 doesn't. Etc....
