X30 WIFI scanning....

It seems that if I'm near my router, the WIFI connects right away, with no problem. If I'm further away, where I still have great reception, but other WIFI routers are probably stronger than they were near my router, the Axim keeps on scanning and scanning (about 50% of the time).

I can manually go and click the connect button and it'll connect right away... but otherwise about 1/2 the time it keeps scanning and scanning and the PPC sleep mode kicks in before anything is locked into. I'm guessing it's the debate over what to connect to which is causing the issue -- but I don't know. Is there a way to force a preferred connection?

Any ideas? (I've tried removing the domain from the registry, as that was a trick someone mentioned long ago. it's hard to tell if it helps -- it gets repopulated anyhow).

Instead of manually selecting your own router first thing, next time, try Remove Settings of the other routers first. If that doesn't work, get Ikehiker's attention.

E: does the X30 come with Odyssey client? If so, scan and add your router to the list, then just select it under Odyssey to connect.

I used Odyssey and tested it about 10 or so times and it seems to do the trick!
