back to the basics...

OK, I'll try to explain this the best I can, and see if anyone knows what I'm talking about. I've had my X30 for some time now, but have not been able to pick up wireless for a long time. I used to be able to see other signals (or my own on my home router) but not anymore. If I click on Dell WLAN Utility, and click enable radio, nothing happens. I have no signal bars either. If I click Odyssey Client, nothing happens. Not sure what to try, and haven't found anything similar in threads. Any ideas/suggestions? My axim is beginning to look a bit....useless....

Try this:

Make a complete backup with Sprite Software. Do a hard reset. See if your wireless gets back to normal. If it does, some software has messed it up. You can restore your backup, and try removing certain programs. Although, I would recommend starting fresh. It's good to do a hard reset every few months, just like you should format your desktop computer once in a while...

I'll give that a try. The only software on here that I really use is my Ostia GPS. I'll look into that Sprite software and see if that will do the trick, and report back. Thanks!

Oh wait, I'm guessing since I just got a mac and the PDA and computer aren't on speaking terms, I need to get something like Missing Sync first before getting a backup?

Hey, how good is the built-in utility for backing up the system? You could backup to a SD card then restore if that didn't do anything for you. Consider backing up contacts only and reinstalling all your software.

On my X30, "enable radio" in the Dell WLAN Utility doesn't really turn the wireless on. I have to press the wifi button (on the bottom right edge) to enable the radio. Have you tried this? If you've remapped the radio button, try using File Explorer to go to My Device/Windows/AppButtons, then tap WirelessPower to see if it briefly opens a "Wireless Enable" window and turns on the antenna. Tapping it again should perform a "Wireless Disable" action.
