I've developed a small utility as a replacement and enhancement of Axim's hardware wireless button applet. It can be used to switch BT and/or WiFi on and off very quickly using a graphinc interface and customizable behavior. At this moment it only works on X50 and X51 (well, it hasn't been tested on other devices AFAIK) but it seems people find it useful.
I wonder if users of other Axim models are interested, as I think it could be easily ported with a little help of some users acting as betatesters.

These look GREAT :) . Will they work w/ QVGA or are they only for VGA?

Not tried in non VGA devices. But it works OK in PocketPC 2003 emulator, so it should work OK. The main problems in non X5* devices should be related to the detection of the state of WiFi and BT and the procedure to switch them on and off. That's why I need users' help to test. Are you interested?

Having an icon in the bottom of today screen could be an interesting functionality :approve: . I'll have a look. I don't think it could be used to replace both wifi and bt icons though, as you shouldn't be able to easily access the BT manager or check wifi signal strength. I'll let you know the progress for you to test.
Anyway, I still need an interested X30 user to try to make it work for those devices too. :)

Hi Mikel. Installed on an Axim X30h today, installed with no problem and remapped itself to the correct key. It will initialise bluetooth but not wifi, and it will also not turn bluetooth off again. This could be extremely useful, thanks for putting so much time and effort in :approve:
As a side note, your bluetooth speed adjuster works fine (or at least seems to) on the X30, I tried it whilst trying to get a set of BT headphones working without hanging.

Hi Mikel. Installed on an Axim X30h today, installed with no problem and remapped itself to the correct key. It will initialise bluetooth but not wifi, and it will also not turn bluetooth off again. This could be extremely useful, thanks for putting so much time and effort in :approve:

Hi. Reading your tests results it seems the problems are:
- WiFi control routines are not working (not compatible with those used in X5*)
- Current state of WiFi and BT is not correctly got (that's why you can turn BT ON but not OFF. It's reported as always OFF)
I'm sending a PM to you with information about a file of your device I need to check whether I can get the information needed to try to make it work.
By the way, I didn't know X30 had problems with A2DP too! Glad it works OK with the speed adjuster.

I'm also intrested in this very useful utility, but I have the same experience on x30 like Womblin. I would like to know that have you got a working version for x30 or not. If not, just tell me if you need help to make it to work.

I tried to adapt the tool to X30 with Womblin's help, but I was unable to finish, as we lost contact. In fact, he doesn't seem to have connected to Aximsite since august. I developed a couple of test exes for him to run in his device. We can try to resume the development if you want.
