x3i fault?

hi people.
i have a x3i 400mhz model and it has an intermitent fault, Sometimes it won't switch on, and when it does switch on it usually freezes shortly after.
has any one else had this problem before?
I have an x3 and thought I maight be able to use it to fix the x3i but don't know if it would help.
What can I do?

Have you installed anything new lately? Have you cleared out memory? Have you tried a hard reset?
