two versions active sync on one computer

I bought a new smartphone with wm 2005 and uses the latest version of active sync. If I install it on my computer, what will happen to the earlier version of active sync that i currently use to sync my axim with wm 2005?

It will probably replace it, but you can use the latest version for your axim too. As 4.2, right?

No, i still use 3.8 No reason to upgrade unless i get a wm5 device that needs it. But you can still sync 2003se devices fine on 4.2.

The reason I havent upgraded is b/c i hear of as problems or maybe its just b/c of the bad wm5 updates. Also, I go by the saying if nothings wrong, dont fix it. I usually dont upgrade software until I see a new feature I would use, or if the old version stops working correctly.
