Is Beam and Bluetooth the same thing?

I was trying to hook up via bluetooth with my X30 to a laptop but i couldnt find bluetooth. theres a beam option and that uses infared but i dont want that. how can i get bluetooth back? Its not under the connections tab in settings.

I know my axim has bluetooth cause its got the bluetooth symbol. Could the program to run it be erased? how can i fix it.

Having the bluetooth symbol on it doesn't mean that it has bluetooth. Mine has the symbol as well, it just means that the same piece of plastic to cover the lights was used on both an axim with and an axim without bluetooth.

that makes sense. but when i did a ''find'' on my axim for bluetooth, it gave me a help page and it was explaining how to activate bluetooth... does it mean i have bluetooth if theres a help page on bluetooth, or is it one of those things like the plastic piece?

Only the Mid and High models have bluetooth connectivity. The best way to tell the difference is check your memory. The low model has 32 Ram/32 Rom.

The mid and high models have 64/64 and both include WiFi and Bluetooth.

The High model has a 624mhz XScale Processor verse 312mhz of the low and mid.

Find these details and you'll be on your way.

The X30 comes in three models and all three look the same with the exception of the two wireless models which have an antenna stub on the top right corner. The basic model has a 312 MHz processor, 32 megs of RAM and no wireless. The middle model has Bluetooth, WiFi, a 312 MHz processor and 64 megs of RAM. The top model has Bluetooth, WiFi, a 624 MHz (that's right!) processor and 64 megs of RAM.
so, if it ain't got the stub antenna, it ain't got bluetooth

The best way to tell is under Settings, System Information, it'll tell you what type of wireless devices are installed.. Should say Bluetooth in there if you have bluetooth.

Have you tried a soft reset?
