Recently acquired a x30, midrange.
2 days ago, downloaded a load of games programs including tetris, pacman, loderunner etc. all kinda simple stuff with low capacity. However, the pda immediately slowed down so that it would take anything up to 1 second to respond after tapping on screen.
I have now completely removed these games (thru 'remove programs') but it is still slow.
I don't know what to do........
The memory shows that it still has lots of capacity left - 15MB over and I've closed all applications running.
When you say you have 15MB of memory left over, do you mean Storage or Program memory? Program memory is what runs the program (i.e., equivalent to RAM) and the lack of it will result in a slow down.
Where did you install your programs? By default, programs install into Main Memory, which is shared between Storage and Program memory. If you install too much, then you will have less left over for Program memory.
Thanks,
The 15MB is divided almost equally between programs and memory.
I have already deleted everything i installed. However, the 'nutcracker' game icon (shortcut) remains under 'Programs' and i don't know how to delete that shortcut.
Evertyhing else has been removed - although the footprint may still be there.
have tried soft reset but still slow at present.
HELP![

you can remove the nutcrack by going into the axim's windows/start menu/programs folder.
so you have 7.5 for storage and 7.5 for program memory?
I dont think there is enough program memory thats why its slow.
Do you have alot of today plug ins? When you push the x button it doesnt really close the program, it just minimizes it. Use the dell switcher utility or some other freeware option to close it.
If you have a SD card try installing things to the SD card instead of the main memory, unless it needs to be installed in the main memory. then use the extra space in memory for programs.
is the processor speed setting at low or something? (not sure with x30m)
Can't remove programs/shortcuts off programs folder!
Thanks Eky,
I have already tried to remove nutcracker games shortcut thru remove programs (it is not found there) , file explorer (not found there) and as you said, thru start, programs folder. Now, it is found there as an icon but when i tap on it, it says no pathway etc. How do i actually delete this icon? Nothing happens if i tap and hold on it for longer.[

You must not be holding it long enough. You should get some small circles that create a circle around the stylus tip (the equivalent of a right-click of your mouse, assuming you're right-handed). Then select delete.
Open File Explorer.
Go to the roots and select windows (1st pic *left to right*)
Then select start menu (2nd pic)
Then select programs (3rd)
Then Select games (4th)
*note: i renamed mine to fun & games but yours should be called games
Click on the icon you want to delete (Nutcracker) and hold it until the circles complete and the menu pops up and select delete (5th)
That should delete the shortcut.
btw u can also do this from your desktop (which i find easier).
