Aximsitex3icon Screwed up Registry

hey first post, I wanted to ask if there was some way to reset the x30 back to manufacture state. I edited the registry so that I could "Use SD Card as My Documents folder" from a site I saw. It's my first time using a PDA and I thought I could have just done a hard reset to get it back. Anyways after I edit the value of the string "Folder" to "My documents" and after that the x30 wasn't recognized on activesync. When I lift the cradle up and placed it back on the cradle activesync becomes green for a few seconds but then it turns gray. I've tried to get into the registry to undo what I did but I keep on getting the error message "Could not connect to the device. Timeout error occurred." from Mobile Registry Editor. I've dont a hard reset 3 times and I still have that message. I never had this problem before until I edited the registry. Is there some program to fix this? I was thinking maybe if I found a backup copy of x30 and loaded it then the problem would be solved, but I didn't do a backup so I'm kinda at a dilemma here.

Try editing the registry directly on the device. You can do this with several programs, but I recommend the free PHM Regedit program.

I don't think you are performing the hard-rest correctly. You have to hold down the on key and the contacts key while pressing the reset button. Then press the on key and it will tell you to press the contacts key to reset the device. Then use file explorer to delete all of the folders in built-in storage and SD card.

A hard reset will not delete anything from storage cards. It is meant only to return the device, itself, to its original state.
