internet connection problem with x30

I have an Axim x30, and I'm attempting to connect to the internet without success. I'm using a built-in wireless 802.11 connection, on the axim I have set a static ip 192.168.0.7, the default gateway is 192.168.0.1. The network is a peer-to-peer with a dell desktop , windows Me, using a wireless dongle, ip address 192.168.0.1. Internet Connection Sharing has been enabled on the desktop, and works when i use my laptop without problem.I can access my work on the desktop, so that part of the network is working, and i can ping my desktop, AND i can ping the server that I am dialling into(isdn connection), but I cannot get the IExplorer to access the internet, or msn to access. Appreciate any help from anyone.

Ad hoc can be a real problem getting to work with PPCs. One possibility is to enter the DNS IPs from your ISP.

thanks for prompt reply Ike, I can no longer ping the isp server from the axim, and putting in the DNS ip's in the network adapter advanced settings has no effect.

Many thanks Ike.
I used one of the ISP's stable ip addresses as the DNS of the wireless network adapter, making sure ICS was properly enabled on the desktop, and I can now access the net from the axim.

For anyone with a similar problem;

axim; static ip address for the wireless adapter, ip address of the wireless adapter on the desktop set as default gateway, subnet mask 255.255.255.0,
advanced-DNS set to ip address of ISP server.

desktop; static ip used for wireless adapter, ICS enabled and properly installed,
run wiwipcfg to find the ISP DNS address.
