Hello!

As far as I know Windows Media Player CE supports all standard Windows media like wma, wmv, avi with no compression, wav, mp3, ...

I have never tried to upgrade the codecs, since I am using betaPlayer (now called TCPMP). It can read a lot of formats, including MPEG4-codecs (divx, xvid) and many audio formats. In addition, it offers power saving options like display settings or when reading from a cf or sd card. You can also chose to take advantage of the graphics accerleration of your i2700G, if you have one. All this things are not possible in WMP! And betaPlayer is free!

WMP mobile ONLY plays mp3, wmv, wma and windows streaming formats. For other formats, you should try TCPMP or CorePlayer (its paid version), as already suggested. BTW, only the "v" models (i.e., X50v, X51v) have graphics accelerators.

To stop lag, you can adjust the buffer in TCPMP if you've already tried changing the processor to max. However, it really depends on how your video is encoded. You might try re-encoding at lower bitrates.
