Daylight Saving Time patch
I was trying to use the automatic MS DST installer to update my x3i but I kept getting an error message. I decided to wait it out and see what happened this morning and sure enough, the time did not adjust on my Axim properly. If I manually set it, then synched to my PC (that did have all of the DST patches applied), the time was still off by an hour as well as a few appointments.
I found by going here:
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsmobi...tdownload.mspx
and selecting the CAB file for Windows Mobile Pocket PC 2003, dragging it into the Axim My Documents folder and running it from there (double clicking), my Axim updated properly and synchs correctly with the PC now.
Hope this helps someone.

I also followed the directions and applied the patch from this site: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...ng=en#Overview
I synced with my PC, but it did not update the time. Changed the time manually on the device and all appointments are showing up correctly now.
Hope this helps those that weren't sure if it was OK to adjust the time!

Amen for the CAB file!
Me too. MS patch was no good - at least for the Axim x3i. Saw the CAB this morning, and it worked. They should have put that out first instead of the trash they issued.

Daylight Savings Time patch
My experience was the opposite - running the patch on my X30High didn't work, but the desktop version did update my PPC.
This morning I picked my X30 up from the dock & it flashed the "clock has been updated" message ... later, I noticed that the time was two hrs ahead, not one. This remained the case until I got home & synced the unit & now the time is correct.
The entire patch journey has been pretty lame considering they have known since '05 that this would be taking place ... and they are the biggest software developer in the world!!

Tried the patch with AS 4.5 and the time on my X3i was updated, but all my calendar items were set back one hour when my Outlook calendar on my PC is correct?
Is there a way to update the calendar items on my X3i?
I do not know what to do with the CAB as it just shows up as a zip arichive that I can open with WinZip and I am unable to copy it to my X3i as you stated here?

From the link in my original post, there is a .cab file that I downloaded to my PC desktop. With my Axim attached, I dragged the .cab file to the My Documents folder on my Axim. Disconnected the Axim, navigated to My Documents on it, and double tapped the .cab file. It installed very quickly (I could not see the messages going by). I soft re-set the Axim and immediately the appointments that were off by an hour were correct. Re-connected the Axim and re-synched. No problems since.

Thanks Ishale....
For some reason my PC at work would not allow me to copy the CAB to my PDA, but was able to copy it at home. I was able to run the CAB on my PDA, and the update appears to have worked! :)

Patch installed fine now no Outlook Alerts
Has anyone had trouble with their Outlook alerts on their Axim? I installed the patch fine but now none of my alerts are going off and they are set on my Axim and work fine on the laptop. Everything seems to be syncing fine.
Thanks

I have the same problem after installing the patch... there are no more alerts (pop-up or audible) on my X30-mid. This even happens for appointments I created after the patch was installed. The desktop alerts from outlook work fine.
Anyone found a solution?

Now I can't sync with Outlook at all. I get an error message to the effect that I don't have network permission. But this is my laptop only connected to my home wireless network and that connection is fine. I removed my McAfee Security crapware that Dell installed on my laptop could this be part of my problem? The Windows firewall is set to allow the Activestink.

I wanted to thank "Ishale" for the assistance.
I wrestled with this problem for I don't know how many hours, over the past couple of weeks (ever since DST started). Downloaded all the requisite patches for Windows XP, Outlook 2002, and Pocket PC (Windows Mobile 2003), but my Axim X3 stubbornly remained on CST rather than CDT. Dragging the .CAB file to my Axim X3 worked perfectly.
