The x3i does not have a "native" landscape mode for the OS, latest version for that model was WM2003. There are some programs which will operate in landscape but that is handled on the program level, only when you have those programs open do you have option of landscape. (e-readers, video players, pic viewers, ect)
There are some 3rd party programs which will give the x3i landscape viewing capabilities by running a "virtual video driver" and load that driver instead of the native video driver when the axim is started. These third party programs can slow down your ax significantly and may not be worth the hassel. The two I have tried and then taken off my ax were "nyditot" and "dot-pocket". they slowed my PPC down and were not used as much as I had originally thought I would, gotta love the trial software options. If you want native landscape capabilities you need a PPC with wm2003SE or later OS as psionandy noted earlier.
