X30 SDIO card wireless problems

I have an Axim X30 and have bought a SDIO 802.11g wireless card. I have installed the driver but it does not pick up the wireless network from my Netgear DG834G router. I have checked that it is set for both b+g. I have also tried various options mentioned on threads but dont even get a blue light flashing on the card. I have tried connecting to another router and still the same.
Other threads have mentioned the Dell WLAN utility but I have not got this on my Axim. I am simply using the connections option where it shows the card installed but not picking up the network.

Can anyone suggest anything to help?
Thanks in advance

The Dell WLAN is only on devices that have built-in WiFi which, presumably, you have the low end model of X30 that does not have WiFi.

The WiFi adapter drivers should have a utility with all the same functions as the WLAN. Did you install the correct drivers for WM03SE? Do you see such a utility in the program list or System/Connections page?

thanks ikehiker. You are right in that i have the low end X30. The wifi card came with a mini cd with just a driver to install which I have done. There is no other utility to help get me up and running. Therefore I have been trying to connect using the settings, connections, network cards option. My wireless network does not show up and the blue light on the card does not even flash! When I try and add a new wireless network, I still get nothing! I have trawled the internet for help and landed here! I have tried various options as mentioned above but with no luck.

Any ideas?
Thanks again

You should check the card manufacturer's website to see if they have updated drivers, especially specific ones for WM03SE. If the light on the adapter never comes on, it sounds like the card is not being seen at all. Here's a (somewhat) silly suggestion, are you sure the card is inserted all the way? Obviously, don't push it so hard that it breaks, but try giving it a little more pressure.

The card is made by Just Mobile (just-mobileonline.com) and they do not have any updated drivers. The only one on their site and on the CD is called CEdrvutility or similar. Does this mean it is for Windows CE?
When i push the card in, it snaps into place so it is not that it is not in place correctly. I think I will ring the site that I ordered it from and ask for a replacement.

Here is the link to the site where I bought the card. It is meant to support Windows 2003 etc

Buy SD 802.11G WIFI CARD At Low Price from EasyDevices

If there is anything you can see that makes it non-compatible with the X30 then please let me know

Thanks again

I don't see any reason that it should not work. Did you try pushing it in a little harder to make sure it is seated on the contacts (again, not so hard that it breaks)?
