Ram/Rom upgrades

Ok, so I have started using my axim a great dell and I just thought I would throw into google "memory upgrade" and this is what i got:

Dell Axim X30 Memory Upgrades - 100% Compatible Dell Axim X30 RAM Memory

So does this mean that the Dell axim X30 has two memory slots that can be upgraded because they are just CF cards? I have not taken my Axim apart so i can't be sure, but really they can't say that it is an upgrade when it is not right?

Can Anyone shed some light?

Thanks

I think they are telling you that you can get bigger CF cards for your x30, storage memory not RAM

Hi,

The X30 only uses SD cards, not CF cards, so the site is just saying you can get bigger SD cards.

Unless I am mistaken the X30 can only use SD cards up to 2GB in size and make sure to steer clear of SDHC as they are not compatable.

Slainte.

Your right, and one slot, not two as far as I can ascertain

But it is about storage not RAM upgrade

The Dell Axim X30 uses N/A type memory and has 2 bank(s) of 1 socket(s) each for a total of 2 memory socket(s) . The Dell Axim X30 comes standard with 32/64MB of RAM and supports up to N/A of RAM with 32/64MB of that in Fixed RAM. Choose from the memory modules listed above for guaranteed compatible upgrades for your Dell Axim X30.

Based on the N/A from their website, it looks like it's a template, with the fields populated from a database, and not someone who knows anything about axims at all.

I'd steer well clear

Incorrect in the sd max size. I have a transcend 4gb in my daughters x30. It works fine and sees the whole 4gb. She uses it as mp3 player. I put wma songs at 64kbs encoding and they sound great. About 1700 songs fit.

That was a quick reply. holy cow i thought i was the only one up at 6am. But then again what time is it in scotland? And if you are in scotland just curious was the movie Braveheart historically correct? I watched it with my 12 year old daughter and she is now fascinated with the movie.

Yes I am definately in Scotland and it is currently 12:05pm here.

As for Braveheart I have never actually seen the movie specifically because over the years Scottish people in films have been portrayed by non-Scots and after you have heard their awful attempts at our accent (think Star Trek) you actually begin to cringe and there is no doubt that this predjudices you against watching these films. You ask yourself why they just couldn't get a Scottish person in the first place. I mean we have some pretty good actors: Sean Connery, Ewan McGregor, Dougray Scott etc.

However if you tell me which bits of the film you want to know about I will be more than happy to oblige.:)
