Two things
Ensure that
1. you do not have security on your router and leave it open. (Not reccomended) or
2. Use WEP security on your router.

The x3i does not support WPA or WPA2 which is the most secure method today and what most people use, you have to use WEP. Look in your routers owners manual under wireless secuiry for setting up wireless security.

I reccommend if that is above your head take it to a local hot spot and see if it connects, if it does it works, if it does not then you may have an issue.

Thanks! Totally above my head!

I went to Panera Bread today and couldn't connect there, either. When I click on the internet explorer icon I get the message "Cannot connect with current connection settings. To change your connection settings, tap settings"
When I tap settings->connections->wireless/ethernet the wireless networks come up but they just say "available" not connected. If I tap and hold on available and tap connect, it says "connecting" but then just goes back to available.
What am I doing wrong?
I was so excited to get this thing and now I am so aggravated. Grrrrrr!!!

Thanks in advance for any advice!!

The 'cannot connect...' message often is caused by selecting 'The Internet' instead of 'Work' as the type of connection. There were also reports that upgrading to the last ROM helped this with the X3i.
