How many still using x30?
I havent been on the site in a couple of years and was just wondering how many still use the x30. I own an x30 mid that went down on me 3 or so years ago. This forum looks pretty dead so I am assuming that an x30 is pretty much out of date?

Love my X30
Was a former X5 user, had mountain of troubles. Finally 1 1/2 years ago, I bought a perfect X30 from eBay, they were pulling in a whopping $200 bucks, some 3 years after launch. At that time, there still wasn't anything that could touch the high version, with the 624 mhz processor.

My X30 still runs perfectly. Eveything that was a royal pain on the X5 is sweet, it is faster than my new Sprint Touch phone, it will do wifi when the Touch will not, and I have decided not to retire it. It will go with us overseas for wifi cafes, the Touch will be worthless. I can also watch BeyondTV with it out on the patio.

The only problem I ever had is that I can't get it to do WPA-Tkip, even with the Odyssey client, which is why I am here tonight. I am determined to somehow fix that one issue, because other than that, my X30 rules.

I'm still using one. Hmmm maybe I'm the only one left in the country. It's like a good woman, it just seems to work fine.

I use an x30 high still; I had an x30 mid for more than 3 years before it started acting up several months ago... luckily I was able to replace (and upgrade ) to the x30 high at a decent price thanks to a fellow Aximsiter.

The x30 was outdated a long time ago, yes, even by Dell itself as the x50 series came out a year or so after the x30 did. However, all the benefits and 'advances' in the meantime doesn't make the x30 pointless for me - I'm glad that it has integrated Wifi and BT because through those, it can still interface with machines today just fine. Oh yeah, expandability via SD/SDIO (but no SDHC sadly) is also a nice thing as well. The only annoyances I can think of is the thinning out of (OEM) accessories like batteries and the aging of WM2003SE.

I love my Dell Axim X3 and use it every day. I like that it fits easily in my purse and is *just* a pda. I also like having a separate very-small cell phone, good-quality camera, and sturdy pocket-sized mp3 player; I can't see slipping a pda-sized smart phone into my pocket for a quick trip, or taking a pda to the gym when I want to listen to a podcast. I have an eee pc for web surfing/skype/etc. while traveling.

I was afraid that I bricked it yesterday (slipped on the stairs with it in my purse; not a bruise on me, but the Axim wouldn't turn on) - thankfully the push-power-and-reset tip on the forums here revived it. I was browsing for a potential replacement and had settled on the HP iPAQ 114 - the closest device to the X3 (feature-wise) I could find!

Still going great here too-it's saved my bacon many a time, and I plan on running it until either it's dead or I get enough $$$ to get a new one ;-)

A little OT here, but it still amazes me how the *experts* are saying the PDA without phone integration is all but dead-I suppose it may be, but as long as I can get a PDA without phone integration that WON'T lock me into a specific cell carrier is fine with me...

I have an Axim X30 that I bought used almost 2 years ago for $110 on a local sales web site. I've been using it since, and love it. The only problem I'm having with it is that the battery doesn't hold a charge as long as I'd like, so it could stand to be replaced. I'd prefer an OEM replacement.

I have the high speed (624 Mhz) version, and it connects to my home wireless WPA-TKip network without issues, using whatever was included on the thing when new.

It's been a while since I've visited this site. I still use my X30H daily. It's my alarm clock, my personal PDA (I use a blackberry for work - I prefer my X30), my electronic Bible (e-sword). I copy movies and use it to watch movies. If I'm somewhere with wifi I connect to my media center pc via Orb and watch TV or stream my movies or music. I use it as an mp3 player for audiobooks. Check my email with it. I love it. Although it's getting a little sluggish. Might be time for me to reload the software on it.

When it finally dies, my next one will probably be a EeePC.

I use mine almost exclusively as an MP3 player in my car, now, but I am using it just about every day even then.

I sent mine out for repair last week. It has been sitting idle for about 6 months due to a broken port. It works well for the most part. Kinda slow as the email box is getting full. Recently the built in storage is no longer detected. It kinda sucks since I never got to use it for anything. I'm gonna replace the old sd card with a high speed one, perhaps 1 gb or 2 gb.

Looking forward to the new spb pocket plus.
