New x30h user

I was researching pocket PCs, and found the High End Axim X30 to be a really reliable and still relevant pocket pc. So I searched on Ebay and found one at a steal of a price. I haven't gotten it in the mail yet, the only thing i hate about ebay, but I know that it isn't coming with the software disc and I was wondering if there is another way of obtaining the programs such as the sync software.

I was also wondering what are some good programs for a starter user like myself to install on my X30.

Ok well i did some searching, and came up wtih another question. OK so if I dont have the sync disc will downloading Windows Mobile Device Center 6.1 work?

If your using xp or lower, you will need activesync:
Microsoft ActiveSync 4.5 | Synchronize Outlook Mail & Exchange Server

If you have vista, you need Mobile Device Center:
Windows Mobile Device Center for Windows Vista – Windows Mobile

Both are free sync softwares.
As far as programs for your axim, what do you plan on doing with it?
You can check out the freeware sites in my sig.

I am mosly going to be using it for internet, I have a blackberry but even on edge network it doesnt really go too fast. I had to sell my laptop because of some tight money situations, and so this is something to get me by until i can purchase another laptop. Oh and i could definately see myself using it for videos too. so basically i would like to know if there are any good tabbed browsers, and good multimedia program.

Within TCPMP click on Options > View > Orientation and choose the way you want TCPMP to play.

I find that Follow GUI is a good choice because it will play in whatever orientation your device is currently in.

well i use portait when useing the regular stuff, but all of my movies are in widescreen so it only makes sense to view them in landscape.

Does any one know the way to install a java environment to where you can install java programs?

Interesting feature, but how does it know the orientation? Is this true of the X30? It doesn't appear to work for me.
