I have an X30 and have been using Odyssey Client to connect at various wifi hot spots for some time now with no problems. Suddenly in the last couple days it won't turn on. I definitely have a connection because the WLAN is showing connected, but I prefer to use the Odyssey Client. The icon on the task bar will not turn green but remains clear, indicating the program is not open. Am I missing something? How do I determine if the program has somehow been disabled?
No success. I did the backup and the hard reset. I turned on the wifi at home over the weekend and accidentally accessed my neighbor's wireless - and it worked! Now this morning when I tried to access the free wifi at my coffee shop, I'm getting contradictory signals. The icon at the top of the screen is showing a connection, as is the Odyssey Client screen which shows signal strength etc.; but the Odyssey icon on the task bar is still not showing a connection, and I am still getting the page cannot be displayed. I have tried at least a half dozen different web sites. Now I'm supposed to go out of town this weekend and I would love to have this working, but I don't know what else to try.:(

It's been a while since I've used Odyssey (I never did like it). I would try using the DELL WLAN utility rather than Odyssey.
If the X30 has the DELL utility, I would disable Odyssey and then soft reset the Axim. Then try connecting by going to Start > Settings > Connections (tab) and tap the DELL WLAN icon. Just tap the Turn On button and then the Site (tab).
It's working now - thanks so much for the advice! Still not sure what's with the Odyssey Client though - never had a problem with it since I've owned the Axim. Oh, well...
Thanks again.
Just what is the Odessy client good for, and what is the difference between it and the Wlan utility?
The only reason you would 'have to' use Odyssey is on corporate and some university sites that use "Enterprise-Level Security" such as EAP-TTLS, PEAP, EAP-TLS, Cisco’s LEAP, and EAP-MD5 since these are not supported by the WLAN utility.
Not again! This is really making me crazy now...The WLAN now is not working either - this morning I got a Page Cannot be displayed even though it was showing an "excellent" connection and the Odyssey client is disabled. I have found some posts about this message for folks with a wireless router to their PC's, but not for WiFi the way I am using it (i.e. hotspots). Any additional advice will be appreciated.
Also, maybe I am missing this somewhere, but I find the setup for the WLAN to be confusing. Are there instructions somewhere on what all the screens should be set to? Perhaps this is what is causing the problems.
The Main page should have the Powersave set to 'Disabled' and the 'WLAN ON.' Nothing can be changed on the rest of the pages but under Start, Settings, Connections (tab), Connections, Advanced (tab) both dropdown lists should be set the same and usually 'My Work Network' is the best choice.

It might also be worth making sure that bluetooth is turned off and that you are only running wireless. The BT stack in the Axim is not unknown for being a bit cranky.
