Odd Wifi Problem Axim X30 high
Ok, so i go to work, or to anywhere that has a free wifi access point that doesnt have secuirty on and i can connect just fine, and surf the internet all day if i wanted, and the battery held of course.
But i go home and on my security enabled wifi all it can do is see it and try to connect, i try to enter the key for the WPA and TKIP, i enter the exact key as it is in my router, i know it is the exact one because i set it in the router and have 2 computers and a couple of other wireless devices already connected to the router useing the same key, but for some reason when i enter the word that is the key the axim tells me that is not a valid key, i read somewhere that i have to enter the key in hexidecimal so i tried that with a text to hex converter i found online, and it didnt do any more then the text word did, my router just shows the key as the word i set it, no generated security type key or anything like that, so as far as it should know its just a word, all it should be is the word typed into the axim and it should work just fine.
However it doesnt seem to be just fine at all, i also tried the odesy client and it didnt help me any, although it at least allowed me to connect to the router, but it wont stay connected and i got an ip configuration error when it finally did, after that it wouldnt do anything, i'm pretty new to the pda so i am not even sure where you set the ip or if it is even possible.
While haveing the problems i also updated to the latest A06 firmware from the A05 and this also didnt correct anything.
Anyone have any idea what could be causeing the problems?
Also i do not want to disable the security on the router because i live in a subdivition and dont want the people around me useing my connection. And i have connected with the wifi from at least 8 places so far without anything more then selecting the connection, so it does work, this is purely a authentication issue between the axim and my d-link dir-615 router.
I also made sure the router has the latest firmware
