Getting old PC Games on Axim x30

Hello,

I am wondering if it would be possible to get any of my old but fun PC games on my X30(624mhz) - such as Stronghold: Crusader. Also is there any XP simulators that will run on it, or could I possibly install a version on Windows 2000 or XP?

Nope.... you can't run 2000,XP or vista on a pocket pc.

The best you can hope for is a re-written version of the game for pocket pc

You can run dos on pocket pcs although im not sure how good it would be with gaming.

People have run windows 95-98se in emulators, but it would be slow and lagging, not good for games.

If you could somehow run these oses natively and not in an emulator they should be really fast, b/c a ppcs specs blows away specs of mid 90s computers.

MHZ and memory may be better... but the chip designs are completely different. So the comparison is meaningless

Give pocketdos a shot, I can confirm that it does work however it doesn't have sound. Pocketdosbox is a ppc port of the dosbox emulator, I haven't used it, but I think I will give it a shot tonite. It supports sound, and should be able to run all the old games, like LeisureSuit Larry, Kings Quest, possibly WC and the like.

If you go to the dosbox website there's instructions on how to install ms-dos on your ppc. Look around the setup disks are online lol.
