TOMTOM configuration with Bluetooth GPS
Dear Helpful People
I have axim x30, and I have two applications that utilise GPS, Memory Map and Tom Tom, I had a serial GPS and I was able to configure both applications very straightforwardly. Serial device broke so I decided to get a Bluetooth version, And Bought a Blue Next GPS BN-905GR, a 51 channel Bluetooth GPS receiver, using NMEA 0183 Protocol.
I very quickly established Bluetooth connection through to the GPS device, no problem there, I then decided to open up memory map and configure the GPS very simple process choosing the Bluetooth serial Port, COM7, and all jumped into life very nicely.
However the problem I'm having is with Tom Tom, its navigator version 5, I establish the Bluetooth connection through to the GPS receiver OK, then open up Tom Tom, as recommended and choose other Bluetooth GPS, and chose Blue tooth Serial port Com7 or COM8 , nothing. then I tried all of the options for GPS connection, because the obvious ones which were Bluetooth serial Port, COM7 and COM8 didn't work. I know I can't have both memory map and Tom Tom working together, I have even rebooted the PDA and then only worked on the Tom Tom side with no reference to memory map still nothing. No GPS Signal
Just wondering if anybody had any ideas of what could be going wrong. PS I also tried using the configuration of Tom Tom wireless GPS but to no avail.
The very best regards, full of hope
Colin
