I think the lack of CF slot is a step backwards - HP took quite a beating over the lack of CF in its high end models.

I need CF for my camera gear - and a lot of it - so I'd prefer to keep using them if possible. SD cards are still relatively expensive and capacity-challenged.

At the end of the day though I imagine the designers were a bit stressed out trying to cram everything in...I guess something had to go (how about the SD slot <grin>)

Sleep

I think it depends on whether there is SDIO in the X3, if so, I could live without the CF slot, I thinkl. Then again, it is early Saturday and I have not had my requisite 3 cups of joe

I could not deal without CF slot. The fact that the ONLY expandability in X3 is the single SD slot is a bad idea.

Basically says you MUST buy the integrated wifi version or deal with no wifi or no memory expansion, or pay very large for both on a single SD.

SD also has practical size limitations, there is only so much can be fit into SD packaging right now.

Bad idea if you ask me, the Toshiba's have both.

I need my CF. It's just too useful. The integrated CF is the number one reason I got an Axim and stopped using my iPaq.

I purchased an iPAQ 2210 for the size and two slots. The X3 would be a step backwards. I love the iPAQ and have relegated the AXIM to GPS duties.

I am very spoiled. I will need both the CF card and the SD card in my next Pocket PC. I use my SD card generally as a spare hard drive. Then the other card for anything I would hook up( Lan card, Camera, ect.)

My next Pocket PC will have to have both cards.

Don't Think in near future. Probably Sometime in the future. (We're talking like in 2009.)

Unlikely--the later X30 can't, so little chance with the X3.
