sync x30 by bluetooth on vista
hi there, hope i'm posting in the right area.
my x30 DOES sync by bluetooth on my new laptop running vista premium, BUT there are a couple issues i'm hoping to iron out.
The problem is, it seems if i ever turn bluetooth off & back on again, the COM port assigned for the axim will not be an option in wmdc unless i do a reboot. The default options for the connection drop box in wmdc is COM3 & 'bluetooth'..& the axim is currently using COM14. (so COM14 would disappear as an option)
Is this normal?
Now, i'm happy that it does work..but it's kind of annoying that i cannot turn the bluetooth off if i don't need it all the time.. or if i ever accidentally turn bt off, i'm stuck doing a reboot.
I'm not sure if it's because the axim should be assigned to COM3..but i never got it on that port (& don't know how to make it that port). The very first time i got it paired & connected, it was assigned COM4 incoming & COM5 outgoing. But, i kept fiddling with it & trying to make it COM3, but each time it would assign a new incremental COM #..so now i'm at COM 12 outgoing & COM 14 incoming.
anyone can help? Is the axim suppose to be on COM3? if so, how do i re-assign it?
the other issue, is i have all these COM ports (4-11 & 13) that vista 'thinks' is assigned now..will that be a problem for anything? And is there a way to 'unassign' them.
Any help appreciated. thanks!
