I Really Need Some Help with my Axim x30

hi all...i'm kinda new to this site...i have had my dell axim x30 for 5 years...it hasn't been used much...it is running windows mobile 2003...here are my problems:


i cannot download avantgo to my PC running windows xp

i cannot download active sync to my laptop running windows vista

i cannot get online with my axim

i cannot sync my axim and my PC

when i try to download avantgo to my PC, it says somthing about not have a CE???

and the problem with synching is...the COM ports???:(


i am really confused and really don't know what to do to fix this...any suggestions appreciated

-Ive never used Avantgo, so cant help you there.

-With Vista you cant use Activesync, you need Windows Mobile Device Center. Google it for download/info. Its backwards compatible with older devices, so it should recognize your x30 just fine.

-Check out http://wifi.aximsite.com/axim-03se.html#_x30 for help on wifi connections. You need to make sure your router is broadcasting wireless b. Many routers are wireless g and now new routers are wireless n. But all of these routers should have backward compatibility to broadcast on wireless b also.

-Once you get WMDC working, you should be able to sync.

the computer that uses vista will need Windows mobile device center, not the old active sync, to sync with your ppc.

thanks for the help...i went to windows mobile devile center and downloaded the appropriate stuff...but when i went to sync my device with my laptop it was a "no go"...i connected with a usb cable???

any thoughts?

Have you tried the simple possible fixes yet? A different usb port, a soft reset, a reboot of the computer? Perhaps look at the posts in the activesync forum; Julie has a link to Chris's step-by-step setup. Windows Mobile Device Center

thanks for your suggestions...i am not having any success linking my axim and laptop...sooooooooooooo...my axim is connected to the internet...i have a dsl modem...now the problem here is i can't download any pages???? what the hey???
