Does the travel synch cable charge?
for 13 bucks, I bought the cable. I am just curious as to whether it also charged the unit.

No, but you can buy the charger adaptor from Computer Geeks for $8 plus $6 shipping! It's for the X5 but their the same. It plugs into the synch cable.

Do you mean an actual AC adaptor, or soemthing that wi ll charge the unit through a USB connection? I want to be able to charge the X3 via the USB port of my laptop.

Or, better yet, does it come with an AC adaptor?

Travel Sync & Power
The travel sync cable is two pieces. The primary piece is the USB cable to sync your PDA to your computer. The secondary piece is the power receptacle connection to the PDA. You unfortunately have to use the same power cable from your Cradle if you want to charge your PDA on the road.

My recommendation is to buy an aftermarket product that does both in one convenient package. The MiniSync from Boxwave would do the trick and it's only 15.95 or so. Saves you the headache of unplugging the power from the Sync Cradle.

There is a previous thread that gives the specs, but if I remember right the USB travel cable will charge your Axim if the battery is not too low or if it is turned off. The power through the USB cable is too low to charge like the cradle adapter, but it will charge if there is no other drain on the battery.

Mine charges at work through the USB travel cable and a USB hub.

The Boxwave rep on this site claims that the X3i is much easier to charge than the X5 and doesn't have the same problems when using a USB charger like the Minisync.
