If you have your email set to sync (I don't) setting it as the account may not solve your problem but in the email program on the Axim, select Accounts from your bottom toolbar and ActiveSync from the list. If you are not set up to get other email directly on your Axim (through a network or modem connection), then it may be your only option to select. If this is the case, then there may be some option where you can set the ActiveSync account to only download manually but I could not find it (maybe because as I mentioned above, I'm not syncing the inbox).
